Drink more coffee!

At last, scientific advice I want to take:

Coffee: Drink More, Live Longer?

A good cuppa coffee

I love Nashville and we are all so glad to be back where we call home but there is one great hole and that is good coffee and served by friendly people.  We miss Philz.

Traveling the open road.

Devil’s Rope

We drove through a little town in Texas, McLean, along Route 66 and saw a sign for “Museum”.  Stopped and decided to check it out as we were all in need of some leg stretching and discovered a wonderful little but comprehensive museum about barbed wire and fences in the west.  Also had a room about Route 66 and a small room also on the dust bowl.

Some very nice ladies talked with Simi and he went away with a buildable windmill and a little more knowledge about the west.

Cats love to travel

Yes, really.

And they let you know, constantly, persistently, how happy they are to be in a car, in a cage going somewhere unknown.

Oh, yes, they let you know, constantly, how happy they are

Marion and San Miguel

On the first leg of our trip we stopped at San Miguel just north of Paso Robles at the old San Miguel Mission.

The chapel is open once again after age and the Loma Prieta earthquake made it unsafe to enter for a long time while repairs were considered and completed.  It is lovely, delicate and inspiring inside.  Well worth the stop off the highway to visit.

Tile at San Miguel Mission

Here is lovely Marion at the fountain in front of the mission.  The choir was practicing as we wandered this day and gave the place an extra layer of beauty as the musical notes wafted softly around the grounds.
